Development Opportunities [more]

With the Marchmont Parade landscaping and public art project successfully completed and the new Marchmont Community Garden up and running, we have turned our attention to two further positive development opportunities for the area: (1) Opening Cartwright Gardens to the public. (2) Creating a new public space on the site of the Coram Street 'pit'.

Cleaner Streets [more]

We continue to work in partnership with Camden Street Environment Officers and Veolia to improve and maintain high standards of street cleaning and refuse collection. Our "Rubbish" advisory notice is periodically delivered to businesses and residents to inform or remind them about collection arrangements for general waste and recycling materials, as well as the potential penalties for depositing rubbish on the footways at the wrong times. This has helped keep local streets much cleaner and tidier.

Community Safety [more]

We worked in partnership with the Bloomsbury and Kings Cross Safer Neighbourhood Teams (Police), Camden's Community Street Wardens and Streetsafe to promote and improve community safety. Our representative on the Bloomsbury Safer Neighbourhood Panel helps to set priorities for policing in the Ward. We also liaise with the Kings Cross SNT, the panel for which is well represented by residents' groups in the Kings Cross section of our area of benefit i.e. north of Tavistock Place.

Traffic and Pedestrian Safety [more]

We successfully lobbied Camden to improve the dangerous Marchmont Street/Tavistock Place junction and to implement pedestrian and environmental improvements along the entire length of Marchmont Street, from Leigh Street to Bernard Street.

Public Realm [more]

We have worked with our partner organisations since 2004 to bring about extensive improvements to the 'public realm' throughout our area of benefit. Improving the look and feel of local streets benefits residents, businesses and visitors to the area, whilst helping to engender 'pride of place' in the local community.
