Even if you already have a copy of the first, second or third editions of 'The Story of Marchmont Street - Bloomsbury's original high street' it is very much worth buying the fourth edition, because of the numerous updates, including 'new' historical facts uncovered by the author or submitted by former residents of the street and their relatives. There are also a few more former residents of note and many new and improved images. The book has proved to be a much appreciated gift, with copies selling World-wide.

You can obtain your copy of the 4th edition (illustrated left) from Skoob Books at 66 The Brunswick (off Marchmont Street), WC1N 1AE and Judd Books at 82 Marchmont Street, WC1N 1AG (web links to Skoob Books and Judd Books, below). It can also be purchased from the Camden Local Studies and Archives Centre at Holborn Library in Theobald's Road.

We published the first edition of this book in 2008, followed by an updated second edition a year later. An updated third edition was released in 2010, due to interest in the book far exceeding our original expectations. We then launched the significantly updated fourth edition of the book in 2012, with a signing event hosted by Skoob Books. Copies of this book have been duly deposited with the British Library. We are grateful to Camden's Local Studies and Archives Centre in Holborn Library (link below) for allowing us unlimited access to their extensive collections and to Ivor Kamlish, our talented and dependable book designer.

The level of public interest in the social history of our area inspired the author of the 'Marchmont' book to research into the history of Brunswick Square, and Russell Square, which led to the publication of two more books: 'Tales of Brunswick Square - Bloomsbury's untold past', and 'From Fields to Fountains - The Story of Russell Square', which are both available through the above outlets, plus the Foundling Museum (see items elsewhere on this site for details).
